Immigration New Zealand offers an option to obtain an Entrepreneur Work Visa to set up your business, which can lead to an Entrepreneur Resident Visa, where you can stay in New Zealand indefinitely.

If your business is profitable and you have satisfied the investment requirements of Immigration New Zealand, you can apply for residence under the Entrepreneur Residency Visa.

Entrepreneur Work Visa Criteria and Allowances

An Entrepreneur Work Visa allows you to set up and work in your own business in New Zealand.

With this visa you can:

  • Come to New Zealand and set up or buy your own business.
  • Work in your business in New Zealand for up to 3 years.
  • Include your partner and dependent children in your application.

To be eligible for this type of visa, you must:

  • Have at least NZD $100,000 in invest capital.

  • Be able to claim 120 points on the Immigration New Zealand points scale.
  • If your business is in the science or ICT sectors, shows a high level of innovation or has export potential, the NZD $100,000 invest capital requirement could be waived.
